Mentoring & More Program

TriVillage Mentor League is proud to offer Mentoring & More to Stevnson Elementary in Grandview Heights, and Barrington Elementary in Upper Arlington.

TVML’s Mentoring & More program provides mentoring to local youth in grades K-3. There is no charge for our Mentoring program and because it is for children enrolled in childcare, we have eliminated barriers of transportation etc. These children are provided with a mentor experience by local high school youth once a week, after school. Local high school students from both Grandview and Upper Arlington are utilized as mentors to the elementary students. It is through this program that strong, life-changing bonds are formed.

The unique thing about our program is that not only is the mentee’s life changed, but so is that of our teenaged mentors. With weekly activities both large and small group, the mentors and mentees experience time together to talk and share their lives. TVML provides an onsite Mentoring Coordinator who runs the weekly program. Mentoring & More runs from October through May.

MANY THANKS TO EMMA BERLIN, THE MENTORING & MORE COORDINATOR FOR THE PAST 2 YEARS. WE WISH EMMA THE BEST OF LUCK AS A TEACHER!

A note below from Molly Gilleland, our new Mentoring Coordinator. Molly will be replacing Emma Berlin this summer.

Hey All! My name is Molly and I am excited to be a part of the TriVillage Mentor League! I will be graduating from the University of Pittsburgh this spring with a degree in Environmental Science and Education and will be attending Capital University this summer to obtain a license to teach High School Science. I love cooking, exploring local parks, and being with friends and family. I look forward to the upcoming school year and can’t wait to work with all these wonderful kids and young adults!

We believe that children who find a connection with someone will take the benefits of that relationship with them into adulthood.
